Yes, a certificate of compliance or electrical safety certificate must be issued, in accordance with the New Zealand Electrical Safety Regulations 2010. This covers everything from changing out a faulty plug to putting in a new switchboard. It certifies that the work was carried out by a licensed electrician and has been proven to be safe. Always ask your electrician for a copy of the C.O.C.
Any unsafe electrical work should be reported directly to Work Safe NZ or the Electrical Workers’ Registration Board (EWRB). If you’re unsure about whether the work is unsafe or not, we are always on call to point you in the right direction.
Every licensed electrician will hold a current electrical practising license similar to a driver’s license, with photo ID and a list of their qualifications. Any good electrician will be proud to display this if asked. Alternatively, a list of all currently registered electricians is available on the Electrical Workers’ Registration Board (EWRB) website.
Transform Electrical offers a 1-year workmanship guarantee, as well as a minimum one year supplied product guarantee. We are able to do this because we only install good quality parts using professional traders.
Received an excellent service from Aidan at Transform Electrical. Arrived right on time and filled me in on all the information that was required before he got started. He understood that I was on a budget and worked with me on that to sort all my light fittings out and cooktop. Was very happy with this service.
Have had Aidan complete a couple of jobs for us now. He has an excellent electrical knowledge and he takes the time to understand our requirements and will offer good advice to ensure we get exactly what we want. A clean, tidy worker, prompt and efficient in his service. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
